FRV and CFA work together at Truganina grass fire

FRV crews were called to Boundary Road in Truganina this afternoon, following reports of a grass fire in the area shortly after 12pm.

FRV firefighters arrived on scene in eight minutes, and quickly called for additional resources to assist at the scene and prevent the fire spreading.

FRV and CFA crews worked together to extinguish the fire and were able to bring the blaze under control just before 3pm, with no injuries reported at the scene.

Fire crews are expected to remain on scene for some time monitoring for hot spots.

A community advice message was issued for smoke in the area.

At the height of the incident there were more than 25 firefighting appliances at the scene, along with a number of additional support units.

Victoria Police and Wyndham City Council also supported FRV at the scene.
