Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to several Triple Zero (000) calls of a house fire in Greensborough this afternoon.
Multiple calls describing a house well-alight and thick black smoke issuing prompted an escalated response.
FRV crews arrived on scene in under three minutes and quickly donned breathing apparatus and began attacking the fire as well as preventing any fire spread to the neighbouring houses.
A search was completed and nothing found.
Parts of the structure were inaccessible at this early stage and will be searched when safe to do so.
The fire was deemed under control by 2.25pm.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but it will be investigated by FRV specialists.
Firefighters will remain on scene to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
