At 6.47am, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to an incident on Avondale Street, Springvale after several callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a house heavily involved by fire.
The response was escalated with crews arriving on scene within five minutes.
Unfortunately, the 20m x 20m single storey weatherboard home was fully engulfed, with firefighters initially unable to enter the home.
Crews worked swiftly to knock down the blaze and extinguish hot spots.
The incident was deemed Under Control at 7.46am.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene assisting FRV operations.
FRV fire investigators and Victoria Police are on scene and will lead the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the blaze.
