FRV brings Cheltenham factory fire under control

At 4.32am, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to an incident on Taunton Drive at Cheltenham after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a building on fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes to find a brick rendered factory, approximately 40m by 25m, involved with fire.

The building was reported to contain approximately 90 vehicles.

Firefighters donned breathing apparatus to attack the fire and the response was escalated to a second and then third alarm.

The fire spread to another nearby building but firefighters were able to contain the damage caused.

A community advice was issued for smoke in the area.

The incident was deemed Under Control at 6.25am.

Firefighters remain on the scene.

The power and gas companies were on the scene.

The fire has been deemed suspicious.
