Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a structure fire at Riversdale Drive at Tarneit after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a house fire this morning.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find a garage attached to a double-storey house well alight.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus used multiple hoselines to attack the fire and try to stop it from spreading to the residential section of the dwelling.
The garage was significantly impacted by the blaze.
Firefighters were able to limit fire damage to the ground floor and smoke damage to the first floor of the house.
Firefighters brought the blaze Under Control at 8.25am, 17 minutes after FRV arrived on scene.
All occupants were able to evacuate safely before FRV arrived on scene.
The source of the fire was a candle in the garage.
CFA, Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria assisted FRV on scene.
