FRV contains Fairfield house fire

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to Station Street, Fairfield, just after 11pm on Wednesday night after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a house fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to a significant fire at the rear of a house, with smoke and flames issuing from the roof, and quickly escalated the response.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus worked to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from further spreading to adjoining properties.

The fire was deemed under control at 11.33pm, with crews remaining on scene for some time to fully extinguish the fire and ensure the safety of the area.

The fire has been deemed suspicious, and the scene was handed to Victoria Police for investigation.
