FRV contains garage fire

At 9.28PM on 11 May, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) was called to an incident on Whitfield Crescent at Craigieburn.

CFA firefighters also attended this incident.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find a garage fully alight with the fire spreading to the roof of the adjoining single storey dwelling.

The alarm was escalated and firefighters donned breathing apparatus to attack the fire.

Firefighters contained the fire to the garage and roof space. 

Flammable liquids stored in the garage were impacted by the fire, hindering firefighting efforts.

Foam was used to extinguish the flames.

The incident was deemed Under Control within 70 minutes.

All occupants, a family of five, were safely out of the building. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire has been deemed to be accidental.

Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police were also on the scene.
