FRV crews attack house fire in Mill Park

24 Fire Rescue Victoria firefighters responded to a house fire in Mill Park this morning.

Multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported the fire on Romano Avenue just before 9.00am.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find thick black smoke issuing from a single storey residence.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews worked quickly to attack the fire, containing it predominantly within the roof space.

Crews declared the incident under control within 20 minutes and remain on scene to extinguish any remaining hot spots.

At the height of the incident, there were 10 FRV appliances on scene, including five Pumpers, one Rescue Unit and one Aerial Unit.

FRV was supported by Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police.

Thankfully no injuries were reported.
