Thirty firefighters responded to factory fire in Thomastown on Thursday afternoon, working quickly to bring the fire under control within half an hour.

A caller to Triple Zero (000) reported the fire just before 12pm, with crews arriving at the Dunstans Court address within five minutes.

On arrival, crews found the factory was well alight, with heavy smoke issuing out of the building.

Thankfully, all people within the building had safely evacuated before firefighters arrived.

Crews entered the building wearing breathing apparatus, and once inside found the fire had taken hold of a pile of wooden pallets, making its way to the roof of the building.

Firefighters brought the fire under control by 12.35pm.

At the height of the incident there were seven appliances and approximately 30 firefighters on scene, including an aerial and rescue unit.

FRV was supported by the CFA at the scene.
