Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a building fire on Mollison Street, Abbotsford at 2.52am following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000).
FRV crews arrived on scene within five minutes to find fire through the roof of a brick building approximately 10m by 30m, so the response was escalated.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus worked swiftly to contain the fire to the building with an aerial appliance also helping crews tackle the blaze.
FRV crews conducted a primary search confirming no one was inside.
The incident was deemed Under Control at 4.02am however firefighters are expected to remain on scene for several hours to monitor hotspots.
Ambulance Victoria was on scene to monitor firefighter health.
Victoria Police was also on scene for traffic management.
Fire investigators will attend in the morning.
