Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a house fire in Box Hill North this morning following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000).
Crews arrived on scene within five minutes to find a fire on the rear deck of the house that had extended into the roof of a single-storey weatherboard home.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus to extinguish the blaze bringing it under control within 20 minutes.
Three people evacuated safely before crews arrived.
FRV remained on scene for some time to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
The cause of the blaze is yet to be determined.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were also on scene, and a community warning issued for smoke in the area.
