FRV crews battle Wheelers Hill building fire

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to several calls of a building fire in Wheelers Hill this afternoon.

Crews arrived on scene within four minutes to find smoke and flames issuing from the roof of a sporting pavilion so the response was escalated.

FRV crews wore breathing apparatus to attack the fire and prevent any further fire spread throughout the building.

FRV operations were hampered by poor water supply, and an aerial platform was used to access the roof fire.

There were no occupants and the fire was deemed under control by 2.44pm.

The cause of the fire was deemed to be electrical.

Firefighters will remain on scene to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
