FRV crews contain fire at Glen Waverley

Fire Rescue Victoria crews responded to a house fire in Blair Road at Glen Waverley, early this afternoon, following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000).

Crews arrived on scene within four minutes to find the single storey, weatherboard dwelling fully involved in fire.

Wearing beathing apparatus, firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, bringing the incident under control within 25 minutes, and containing the fire to the property of origin.

There were no occupants on scene at the time of the incident. There were no injuries reported.

A secondary college, located adjacent to the incident but separated by a sports field, was advised to shelter in place until the ‘all clear’ was given at 2.45pm.

The cause has been deemed suspicious and the scene will be handed over to Victoria Police for further investigation, at the conclusion of firefighting activities.

Ambulance Victoria paramedics were on scene to support firefighting activities.
