FRV crews were called to a house fire in Keeron Street at Caulfield South after numerous Triple Zero (000) calls were received reporting flames issuing from the roof of the 2-storey brick house.

Additional firefighting trucks were sent in response and on scene within minutes.

FRV Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, found a dog and removed it, unharmed, from the fire.

The unoccupied property has suffered significant fire damage.

The fire was brought under control in 35 minutes.

A Community Advice was issued due to smoke in the area.

A Building Surveyor will be attending to check the integrity of the structure, and the local council are also caring for the dog.

FRV Firefighters remined at the scene for some time afterwards to complete extinguishment and conduct associated fire duties.

The fire has been deemed suspicious and the scene was handed over to Victoria Police.
