FRV crews rescue resident from house fire

Fire Recue Victoria (FRV) crews rescued an elderly woman from a house fire in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Callers to Triple Zero (000) reported the Keilor house fire at 4.12am, with reports of a resident trapped inside.

Firefighters arrived at the Feathertop Drive scene within five minutes and were able to evacuate the woman from the second storey of a three-storey home.

A fire had broken out in a bathroom on the third storey. Crews quickly brought the fire under control, containing it to the room of origin.

FRV crews remained on scene for several hours fully extinguishing the fire and ensuring there was no fire extension.

The resident was assessed on scene by Ambulance Victoria with no injuries reported.
