FRV crews respond to Balwyn North unit fire

Fire Rescue Victoria crews responded to an apartment fire in Balwyn North following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) just before 12:30 pm on Monday.

Firefighters arrived to the Alpha Street scene within 4 minutes to find a fire issuing from a housing unit with flames spreading to the roof.

Wearing breathing apparatus, FRV crews attacked the blaze internally with the fire brought under control at 12:58 pm.

Firefighters remained on scene to extinguish hot spots and check the structural damage.

Ambulance Victoria assessed one patient at the scene.
