FRV crews were called to a house fire on Kirby Street at Reservoir after several calls to Triple Zero (000).
The first FRV fire truck arrived on scene within six minutes to find a single-storey brick house fully alight and impinging on a neighbouring property.
FRV crews donned breathing apparatus and attacked the fire preventing any further spread and began a search of the property.
No occupants found in the search.
The gas company was on scene.
The fire was deemed under control by 2.00am.
Victoria Police officers and Ambulance Victoria personnel were on scene assisting FRV crews.
