FRV crews on scene at Oakleigh gas leak

Approximately 8 firefighters responded to a gas leak in Oakleigh on Monday morning.

FRV crews were called to the Westminster Drive incident after a caller to Triple Zero (000) reported a high pressure gas main had been ruptured during works, just after 10:35am.

FRV firefighters arrived on scene in eight minutes, and quickly worked to disperse the escaping gas.

Crews are monitoring the scene with gas detectors and working with the gas company to ensure the area is safe.

Traffic in the area will be affected while FRV operations are underway, and Victoria Police are assisting on scene.
