Fifteen FRV firefighters worked quickly overnight to secure a house in Coburg North.

A car crashed into the Sydney Road house at around 1am on Saturday morning, travelling through the fence and hitting the front veranda.

A brick pillar supporting the veranda collapsed as a result of the impact.

Firefighters from FRV’s urban search and rescue unit quickly installed timber structures to make the veranda and house safe.

Thankfully, nobody was injured as a result of the incident.

Moreland City Council building surveyors have assessed the house and Victoria Police is investigating the incident.
