FRV rescues woman from sinkhole in Caulfield

FRV responded to a woman who had fallen into a sinkhole in the backyard of a house in Caulfield this afternoon following a call to Triple Zero (000) shortly before 1.30pm. 

FRV crews were on scene within four minutes and found the woman stuck in a 2.5m x 0.5m hole, which had soft and muddy walls, concerning crews of further potential ground collapse. 

FRV specialist rescue crews using a ladder and timbers to reinforce the ground, rescued the woman within 17 minutes of arrival on the scene. 

Ambulance paramedics assessed the woman on scene.

Eight FRV appliances attended the incident. 

Victoria Police also attended.
