FRV responds to Braeside factory fire

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) are currently on scene at a large factory fire on Boundary Road, Braeside after callers to Triple Zero reported hearing explosions at 3.50am.

Firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes, shortly before 4am to find a 30 metre by 60 metre brick factory fully ablaze and escalated the response.

Firefighters are currently utilising multiple hoselines and aerial firefighting appliances to try and bring the fire under control.

A community Advice message has been issued for the area due to large amounts of smoke emanating from the fire.

CFA, Police and Ambulance Victoria are on scene assisting.

Update 5.00am: The fire was declared under control at 05:00am, 63 minutes after FRV crews arrived on scene.

Firefighters will remain on scene well into daylight hours fully extinguishing the fire.

The factory housing a panel beating business has sustained significant damage in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined but will be investigated.

Update 7.04am: The fire has been deemed suspicious.
