FRV responded to an incident in Broadmeadows on Thursday morning at 06:48am following several Triple 000 calls reporting a house fire.
Crews arrived at the Graham St scene within five minutes to find a single storey house fully involved in fire.
Approximately 20 firefighters began extinguishing the blaze wearing breathing apparatus, containing the fire before it spread into the adjoining duplex unit of the 10m x 15m single storey brick veneer home.
No occupants were home at the time with the fire declared under control within 20 minutes just after 7am. One unit has been severely damaged by fire with no damage sustained to the second unit.
The cause of the fire has been deemed electrical.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria are on scene supporting FRV operations.
