FRV responds to Campbellfield factory fire

Fire Rescue Victoria responded to an incident in Campbellfield just before 4.15pm on Sunday 25 December 2022, following calls to Triple Zero (000) reporting a factory fire.

Crews arrived on scene in 4 minutes to find a civil construction equipment factory fully involved in fire. Due to the structural instability of the factory and the toxic nature of the flames, firefighters wore Breathing Apparatus (BA) while extinguishing the fire from a safe and advantageous location.

The response involved the use of aerial equipment and ground monitors to support crews while they worked over the span of 2 hours to make the scene safe.

The incident was declared under control at 6:36pm and the cause of the fire has yet to be determined. Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police were on scene to assist with crew welfare and traffic control.
