At 6.23am, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to an incident on Wheatsheaf Road, Glenroy, after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a house fire, with possible occupants still inside the building.
FRV's response was escalated.
Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find a single-storey weatherboard house fully involved with fire.
Crews safely evacuated three individuals from the home, who were assessed by Ambulance Victoria at the scene.
Firefighters worked together to battle the blaze by establishing a hose line.
The incident was deemed under control at approximately 6.54am.
Unfortunately, the rear of the house has suffered fire damage. Fire also travelled through roof to front of house, causing further fire damage.
Crews will remain on scene to continue extinguishment and ensure the safety of the area.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. FRV’s specialist fire investigators will investigate the cause of the fire.
Victoria Police were also in attendance.
Power and gas companies were contacted to isolate the area.
A building surveyor will be attending the premises to check the integrity of the structure.
