FRV specialists to investigate cause of Brunswick East fire

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to a house fire on Stewart Street, Brunswick East this morning, following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000).

Firefighters arrived on scene within 5 minutes to find smoke issuing from the roof of a single storey weatherboard house and the response was escalated.

Crews wore beathing apparatus to gain access to the property and extinguish the fire, protecting adjoining properties from damage.

The fire was deemed Under Control at 04.35am.

A search was conducted, and no-one found inside.

Gas and power were isolated to the property.

The cause of the fire is not yet determined and will be investigated by FRV's Fire Investigation Unit.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene to support firefighting activities.
