At 8.07am, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) supported by CFA responded to an incident on Highlander Drive at Craigieburn after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a fire in a backyard.
The response was escalated.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find a car fire which had extended into a garage connected to five other garages.
The garages were impacted by the fire or were issuing smoke.
Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and used hose lines to attack the fire and contained it.
The incident was deemed Under Control at 8.31am.
The fire has been deemed suspicious and will be investigated by Victoria Police.
