Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus arrived and quickly surrounded the 20x10m weatherboard home with water lines to prevent the fire spreading to neighbouring property.

Five Pumpers, one Rescue Unit, a Teleboom and three specialist and support vehicles brought the scene under control at 2:25pm, approximately 40 minutes after receiving the first call. A cause is yet to be determined.

Thankfully there were no injuries.

Crews will be on scene for some time extinguishing the blaze and monitoring for hot spots.

FRV is being supported by CFA, Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

A Community Warning was put in place to ensure the health and safety of the people in close proximity to the fire.
