FRV crews arrived on scene within four minutes, and were met with a fire that had taken hold of the rear of a single storey weatherboard house.

Wearing breathing apparatus for protection from the smoke, firefighters entered the property and commenced a search and internal attack on the fire.

Thankfully the house was unoccupied at the time.

Firefighters declared the fire under control just before 4:45am and worked to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.

At the height of the fire there were seven FRV appliances on scene, including an aerial ladder platform appliance.

FRV was also supported by CFA.
