FRV crews responded to a shed fire in Glenroy on Friday evening.

Approximately 40 firefighters were called to the Sadie Street incident at around 4:30pm to find a tin shed fully alight.

Firefighters arrived on scene in seven minutes to find that the shed was threatening neighbouring properties.

A separate FRV appliance was sent to the street behind the property to ensure the fire did not spread, and residents of the neighbouring property were evacuated safely.

Wearing breathing apparatus, FRV firefighters brought the fire under control 30 minutes after arriving, just after 5pm.

Firefighters are still in the process of ensuring the scene is safe, and once cooling procedures are complete will investigate the cause of the fire.
