Grassfire in Truganina

FRV and CFA firefighters have gained the upper hand of a grassfire which erupted in Truganina this afternoon.

Crews were called to Troups Road shortly before 4pm and arrived to find a large grass and scrub fire had taken hold.

Firefighters worked quickly to get the incident under control by about 5.30pm.

The blaze tore through up to four acres of grassland.

Crews remain on scene blacking out remaining smouldering materials.
