Hadfield house destroyed by fire

At 3.01am, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to an incident on Richard Street, Hadfield after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a house fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes to find a single storey brick home fully involved in fire with flames through the roof.

The fire took over 30 mins to bring under control.

The house and its contents have been destroyed by fire, with extensive structural collapse.

The local Building Surveyor has been requested to attend.

The house was unoccupied, but firefighters evacuated four occupants from a nearby home, which firefighters were able to protect from fire.

Firefighters will be on scene throughout the morning continuing to extinguish hot spots and undertake fire duties.

The fire has been deemed suspicious and was referred to Victoria Police for investigation.
