FRV crews arrived on scene within six minutes to find a single storey brick house on Smeaton Avenue fully involved in the blaze.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters attacked the fire, and FRV and CFA crews worked together to contain it to the property.

The fire was declared under control exactly 20 minutes after initial crews arrived at the scene.

FRV crews from Sunshine, North Laverton, Point Cook, Altona, Laverton and Tarneit Fire Stations were supported at the scene by a command unit and a number of CFA crews.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but FRV fire investigators will attend the scene.

There were no injuries reported.
