FRV firefighters responded to a house fire in Braybrook just before 8.40am this morning, following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000).
Upon arrival at the scene, crews found a double-storey house fully alight and quickly escalated the response.
Donning breathing apparatus, firefighters began an attack on the flames and worked to bring the fire under control.
Two people were located at the house and were treated by Ambulance Victoria. Unfortunately, one man died at the scene, and the other has been transferred to hospital.
A Community Warning has been issued for the public to be aware of smoke in the area.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
