House fire in Brooklyn overnight

Approximately 20 firefighters were called to a house fire in Brooklyn overnight.

Crews were called to the Eames Ave property at 1:40am after a Triple Zero (000) call from a person sighting flames and smoke from the home. 

It took just six minutes for initial crews arrive to the scene. The single storey home was well alight and firefighters donned breathing apparatus attacked the fire from all sides in an effort to contain the blaze.

The incident was declared under control in just over an hour. 

At the height of the incident there were 10 firefighting appliances on scene, including an aerial appliance and a Command Unit. 

The scene has been handed over to Victoria Police for investigation.
