House fire in Preston

Approximately 30 firefighters responded to a fire in Preston on Sunday night.

Multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a house on Spring Street was fully alight just after 9:30pm.

FRV crews arrived on scene in four minutes and wearing breathing apparatus aggressively attacked the fire.

Firefighters contained the blaze to a bungalow at the rear of the property, and brought it under control in 27 minutes.

Crews stayed on scene to monitor hotspots, and specialist firefighters are investigating the cause.
