Keilor Park house fire under control

Approximately 26 firefighters managed to get a significant house fire under control within 17 minutes of arriving on scene.

Fire Rescue Victoria received multiples Triple 000 calls from 12:11pm regarding a house fire in Julia Way, Keilor Park, with firefighter arriving on scene in just over 5 minutes.

Wearing breathing apparatus firefighters entered the 10m x 20m home with hose lines to attack the fire which had already fully engulfed the rear living areas and spread into the roof structure. All 5 occupants had evacuated the premise before FRV’s arrival.

The fire was deemed under control at 12:34hrs, 17 minutes after FRV crews arrived on scene. The cause of the fire is being investigated but isn’t believed to be suspicious.

Five Pumpers, a Rescue unit and Teleboom were supported by two specialist vehicles.

FRV was supported by Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria paramedics.
