Maidstone house fire under control

More than 20 firefighters responded to a house on fire in Maidstone early on Thursday morning.

FRV crews were called to Inkerman Street just before 6am after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported smoke and flames coming from the house.

Crews arrived on scene within six minutes to find a house well alight.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews attacked the fire externally and brought it under control in 20 minutes.

Fire fighters conducted an internal search of the property to confirm there were no occupants present at the time of the incident.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

There were no reports of injuries.

FRV worked alongside Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria at the scene.
