Malvern House fire extinguished

FRV Firefighters responded to reports of a house fire in Serrell St, Malvern East at 9.19am Saturday morning.

Crews arrived on scene within 5 minutes at 9.24am to find the flames spreading from the bedroom into the roof space of the home.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building to extinguish the fire and managed to bring the incident under control by 9.41am.

The flames were contained to a bedroom and hallway with minor spread into the roof space of the brick home.

The occupants who were at home at the time had safely evacuated with no injuries reported.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria attended and assisted FRV operations on scene.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
