Mount Waverley garage fire quickly contained

Firefighters brought a garage fire at Mount Waverley under control quickly on Tuesday afternoon.

Several callers to Triple Zero (000) reported large plumes of black smoke coming from the rear of a house in Ben Hogan Court just after 12:00pm.

FRV crews arrived on scene in five minutes and wearing breathing apparatus, aggressively attacked the fire, which was in a garage at the property.

Firefighters contained the blaze to the garage and brought it under control in six minutes.

Specialist FRV fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
