FRV responded to an incident in Mulgrave at around 9:15pm on Thursday evening.
30 Firefighters responded, with initial crews arriving on scene within five minutes to find a house fully alight.
Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters searched the property to confirm no one was inside.
Firefighters attacked the fire bringing it under control within one hour.
The incident has been handed over to Victoria Police
