Firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes and were met with a fire that had taken hold of a brick home.

Thankfully four occupants evacuated safely when the fire broke out.

More than 25 firefighters worked to contain the fire, bringing it under control just before noon.

At the height of the fire there were eight firefighting appliances in attendance – including a rescue and an aerial teleboom, in addition to a command unit.

Firefighters remain on scene to ensure the fire has been completely extinguished, and are monitoring for any remaining hot spots.

FRV's specialist Fire Investigation Unit are on scene working to determine the cause of the fire.

A community advice message was issued advising residents to open windows and doors to ventilate their homes or businesses if affected by the smoke.
