Point Cook grass fire under control

Approximately 28 firefighters responded to a grass fire in Point Cook on Monday afternoon. 

FRV and CFA crews were called to Homestead Road at 3:35pm after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a grass fire spreading and threatening nearby buildings. 

Firefighters worked to contain the fire and brought it under control 21 minutes after the first appliance arrived on scene. 

Firefighters are on scene to ensure it is safe and are working to determine the cause of the fire.
