Approximately 30 firefighters arrived on scene at 1:16am to find smoke and flames issuing from the roof space of the bungalow at the rear of the premesis and quickly worked to make the scene safe.
Conditions were tough on the ground at the abandoned site with significant vegetation growth, locked gates and asbestos detected.
Despite challenging conditions crews were able to enter the bungalow to perform an internal attack of the structure from the front and rear and managed to bring the scene under control just ten minutes later at 1:26am. A search found no occupants.
The fire was successfully contained to the one premesis.
Crews remained on scene for sometime afterwards monitoring for hot spots.
Victoria Police is investigating.
