Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to a building on fire in Cape Street, Heidelberg at 8.44PM on 30 August, following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000).
Crews arrived on scene within 4 minutes to find several large trees on fire and quickly spreading to neighbouring buildings, so the response was escalated.
Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters worked hard to extinguish the fire, bringing the incident under control by 9.14PM.
There were no occupants endangered by the fire and a community warning was issued for significant smoke in the area.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene to support firefighting activities.
Firefighters remained on scene for some time, to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
