Reservoir factory fire now under control

Approximately 30 firefighters were on scene at a factory fire on Henty Street and Kurnai Avenue in Reservoir around 1pm this afternoon.

With reports of multiple evacuations crews arrived within seven minutes and identified fire and thick smoke issuing from a large pile of pallets and debris adjoining a furniture factory.

Five Pumpers, a Rescue unit and Teleboom were assisted by three specialist and support vehicles.  The scene was under control within 35 minutes. Thankfully there were no injuries.

Firefighters will remain on scene for some time checking for fire spread and ventilating smoke from the factory.

FRV was supported by Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

Cause is yet to be determined.
