Reservoir wrecking yard involved but under control quickly

FRV crews responded to reports of a structure fire on Banbury Road Reservoir just after 5pm this evening.

Approximately 22 firefighters were dispatched and arrived within 6 minutes to find a fire involving a single storey 20m X 10m shed at a wrecking yard.

Fortunately all occupants had already safely evacuated, with no injuries reported.

Firefighters manning four pumpers, a teleboom, and a rescue appliance were assisted by specialist and support vehicles and worked quickly to knock down the blaze. The fire was declared under control just before 5:30pm.

Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police assisted FRV at the scene.

One person was placed into the hands of Ambulance Victoria.

The cause has been deemed accidental
