School fire in Seaford

Firefighters were on scene in Seaford this evening following a fire at a primary school.

Crews from FRV and CFA were called to the school on Belvedere Road just after 7pm and arrived to find flames and smoke billowing from the roof of the building.

Firefighters were able to gain access to the site quickly and contain the blaze, preventing significant damage.

The fire was declared under control by 7.25pm with the cause deemed to be electrical.

The Department of Education and Training has advised that the school will contact parents tomorrow regarding arrangements for Monday.
