Specialist Rescue Operators respond to car crash in Footscray

Fire Rescue Victoria firefighters freed a patient who was extensively trapped in a car following a collision on Sunday morning in Footscray.

Nine firefighters, including Specialist Rescue Operators, were called to the Ballarat Road incident just after 3.30am after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported the crash.

Crews arrived on scene within four minutes and worked alongside Ambulance Victoria paramedics to safely free the occupant of the car.

Three patients were treated on scene by Ambulance Victoria paramedics before being transported to hospital.

Victoria Police were on scene to assist with traffic management and is investigating the incident.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
