The first crew arrived on scene within seven minutes, at around 1:30am.

They were met with a fire that had taken hold of a bungalow at the rear of the property, which was threatening nearby dwellings on both sides.

Wearing breathing apparatus as protection from the thick smoke, firefighters worked to contain the fire to the structure and protect the neighbouring properties.

Their efforts ensured the fire was under control approximately 40 minutes after crews first arrived on scene.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the blaze as the property was not occupied at the time of the fire.

The exact cause of the blaze is being investigated; however firefighters believe the fire to be electrical in nature.

At the height of the blaze there were approximately 30 FRV firefighters on scene. They responded on board six pumpers, a rescue, and three other command and support units.
