FRV crews responded to a bin fire on Singers Lane and La Trobe Street in the Melbourne CBD at 2:39am Sunday 2 May.
Arriving within five minutes, firefighters extinguished the blaze quickly and prevented it spreading to nearby buildings.
Several glass bottles were reportedly thrown at attending firefighters.
Fortunately, no firefighters sustained injuries.
Violence against emergency service workers is unacceptable.
Our firefighters do an incredible job protecting Victorians and the community and firefighter safety is FRV’s highest priority.
FRV takes this matter seriously and are liaising with Victoria Police who is investigating the incident.
